Therapy for Family Relationships & “No Contact”

no contact with family

Family relationships can be some of the most meaningful—and sometimes most complicated—relationships in our lives. Maybe you’re struggling with communication, navigating old family patterns, or finding yourself pulled into the same conflicts over and over again. You can love your family and still feel frustrated, hurt, or misunderstood.

At The Curious Cat Therapy, we believe therapy can be a space to make sense of those relationships and figure out what you need moving forward.

Are you finding yourself…

no contact with family

At The Curious Cat Therapy, we take a warm, curious, and nonjudgmental approach to family relationships. We’ll explore the patterns and experiences that have shaped your relationships, how they may be affecting you today, and what you want your relationships to look like moving forward. Together, we can work on communication, boundaries, self-advocacy, and navigating difficult conversations while making space for the complicated feelings that can come with family.

  • Feeling stuck in the same family conflicts or patterns?
  • Struggling with guilt or questioning yourself after setting boundaries?

  • Wondering if you’re “allowed” to take space from a family member?

  • Feeling torn between protecting your peace and maintaining family relationships?

  • Experiencing grief, sadness, anger, or loneliness after going low or no contact?

  • Constantly replaying family interactions and wondering what you could have done differently?

  • Struggling with people-pleasing or feeling responsible for everyone else’s feelings?

  • Having difficulty communicating your needs without feeling guilty?

  • Unsure whether to reconnect, maintain distance, or redefine a relationship?

  • Trying to break patterns you grew up with while figuring out what healthier relationships look like?

Adriana Lara, LMHC owner of The Curious Case Therapy

Meet Adriana

Hello! My name is Adriana Lara and I am the owner of The Curious Cat Therapy, offering counseling services for individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Tampa and provide virtual therapy in Florida, New York, and Massachusetts.

At The Curious Cat Therapy we lean into curiosity to explore what has led you here. As a therapist, I try not to take life too seriously. I believe humor can help ease tension, create connection, and make it a little easier to talk about the hard stuff. I’ll help you recognize your strengths, challenge unhelpful patterns, and build tools you can actually use in everyday life.
