Teen Therapy

Sometimes, you just need someone to help you untangle the mess.

Being a teen can feel like a lot with school, friendships, family, emotions, expectations, and figuring out who you even are. At The Curious Cat Therapy, we help teens slow down, get curious about what’s going on beneath the surface, and build the tools they need to feel more confident, capable, and understood.

Is Your Teen Struggling? Here’s What to Look For

  • Are they pulling away from friends, family, or activities they once enjoyed?

  • Do they seem overwhelmed by school, friendships, relationships, or everyday stress?

  • Are they becoming more irritable, emotional, or withdrawn?

  • Are they frequently putting themselves down or struggling with confidence?

  • Are they constantly worrying, overthinking, or seeming more anxious than usual?

What Can Teens Gain From Therapy?

Therapy can provide teens with a space that is truly their own—a place where they can show up as themselves, feel understood, and talk through the things that may be difficult to share with others.

Hello! My name is Adriana Lara and I am the owner of The Curious Cat Therapy, offering counseling services for individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Tampa and provide virtual therapy in Florida, New York, and Massachusetts.

I work with  folks who are feeling stuck and can’t seem to get out of their own way. I meet people where they are, helping to sit with the feelings to be able to let go of the hurt, pain, or frustration. My approach is warm, I will challenge you, while using a dash of silliness and humor.

I especially love working with teens. Building trust with young people means meeting them where they are, whether that's through humor, creativity, or embracing a little silliness. I believe therapy doesn't have to feel intimidating to be meaningful, and I strive to create a space where teens feel safe enough to be themselves while still being challenged to grow.
