Therapy for Depression

Depression can make everything feel harder than it should. Maybe you’re feeling drained, disconnected, unmotivated, or like you’re just going through the motions. Sometimes depression looks like sadness, but it can also show up as irritability, numbness, self-doubt, or losing interest in the things you usually enjoy.

At The Curious Cat Therapy, we believe you don’t have to navigate those feelings alone.

Are you finding yourself…

At The Curious Cat Therapy, we take a curious, compassionate approach to depression. We’ll slow things down and explore what you’ve been carrying, what may be contributing to how you’re feeling, and the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Together, we’ll work toward understanding yourself with more compassion, reconnecting with the parts of life that matter to you, and taking manageable steps toward feeling more like yourself again.

  • Feeling sad, empty, numb, or emotionally drained?

  • Having little energy or motivation to do the things you normally enjoy?

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself or the people around you?

  • Struggling with negative thoughts or being especially hard on yourself?

  • Feeling stuck, hopeless, or like things aren’t going to get better?

  • Having difficulty concentrating, making decisions, or getting things done?

  • Sleeping much more or less than usual?

  • Pulling away from friends, family, or activities you once enjoyed?

  • Going through the day but feeling like you’re just getting through it?

Meet Adriana

Hello! My name is Adriana Lara and I am the owner of The Curious Cat Therapy, offering counseling services for individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Tampa and provide virtual therapy in Florida, New York, and Massachusetts.

I work with  folks who are feeling stuck and can’t seem to get out of their own way. I meet people where they are, helping to sit with the feelings to be able to let go of the hurt, pain, or frustration. My approach is warm, I will challenge you, while using a dash of silliness and humor.

At The Curious Cat Therapy we lean into curiosity to explore what has led you here. As a therapist, I try not to take life too seriously. I believe humor can help ease tension, create connection, and make it a little easier to talk about the hard stuff. I’ll help you recognize your strengths, challenge unhelpful patterns, and build tools you can actually use in everyday life.
